New Month and A New Moon: What To Do With It

Today is September 1st. It is the first day of a new month, and it is also happens to be a new moon. During a new moon, the moon and the sun are on the same side of Earth. On this day, you cannot see the moon, because the side of the moon that is illuminated from the Sun is facing away from Earth. Picture the moon between the Sun and the Earth. You cannot see the moon with your eye alone as the dark-side of the moon is facing us. Just as most of us see a new week (hello, Monday!) or new month as a clean slate, the new moon symbolizes new beginnings and a fresh start. September is my favorite month of the year (I am biased, as I am a September baby) so to have the new moon land on the first day of this beautiful month makes me so happy!

As the new moon signifies a new start, it is the perfect time to brush off any old and unfulfilled goals or wishes and set new intentions for yourself.

Now, what are intentions? And how are they different than just setting goals for yourself? Let me elaborate. Goal setting can be very broad and a lot of times it is long-term based. In my eyes, intention setting is much more personal and heartfelt. You vocalize what you truly want to bring into your life. When you set intentions, you are telling the universe that you welcome these things into your life… whether it be love, growth, abundance, happiness, health, or wealth.

The new moon is the time to think about what it is that you truly want (thoughts become things, y’all!) and write it down and give it to the universe. If you’ve heard of the Law of Attraction, you know that putting these things out into the universe is the first step in planting the seeds of the harvest you will soon reap.

Tonight, try a new moon ritual. Sit down in a quiet place. Clear your mind. Close your eyes. Visualize the things that you want. Then, grab a pen and paper. Write out your intentions. What did you visualize? What do you want to manifest in your life? Write it down. Say it out loud. Declare it to the new moon (and the universe). Let the energy of the new moon support your intentions. By saying your intentions out loud, you are placing more power behind them.

Not sure where to start? Try to finish these sentences and see what comes to mind:

“I welcome…”

“I intend to…”

“I want to manifest…”

Here are a few of my intentions for the month of September:

site de rencontre franа“ТЇais gratuit 2016 rencontre entre personne handicapée gratuite site rencontre budapest site de rencontre sГ©rieux allemand rencontre femme etrangere a dakar speed dating meme maker 3d rencontres odesia rencontre cherche jeune homme de compagnie I welcome more high energy, high vibration people into my life.

I am very affected by the energies and vibrations of those around me. I know that in order to be happy and reach my full potential, I need to be surrounded by other people who are also high energy and high vibration. Letting the universe know that I am open to these people will ensure that more of them find their way into my life.

I intend to focus more time on my blog and writing.

The past few months, it’s been easy to say that I want to spend more time writing, however, it still falls by the wayside (thanks to my career and competition prep). But, when I put INTENTION into it, it’s more of a commitment to myself and my own happiness than just a blanket statement of “I want.” I have noticed that whenever I say “I intend” to do something, I will hold myself accountable to those statements. A woman is only as a good as her word, am I right, or am I right?

I want to manifest more writing opportunities through multiple publications online, outside of just my own blog.

In the last week, I have been granted the amazing opportunity to have my work published by a popular publication (more to come on that in another post!) and I want more of these opportunities to come my way. I love sharing my voice and my light and my energy, what better way to get my words out there, than to be published on multiple publications?

Intention setting acts as a magnet to bring what you want into your life. The most important part of intention setting, is setting intentions from a positive place and knowing that what you most want is already granted to you by the universe. You must believe that you will manifest these intentions. Be grateful to the universe (and to God, of course) for granting you these wishes. You will receive them.

Now that your intentions have been set, and you have expressed gratitude knowing that they will come to you, you must act on your intentions. You gave yourself (and the universe!) your word, didn’t you? You stated that you INTEND for this… so take a step (even the smallest steps count) towards your intentions. After all, good things come to those who hustle, not those who wish for it.

The next full moon is September 16th, and the full moon is known as a time of manifestation. So put in the work now, ladies, and you’ll be able to harness the energy of the full moon mid-month! When September 16th rolls around, you won’t want to have said that you placed your intentions and made no effort to manifest them.

Did you set intentions for this new moon? If so, tell me in the comments below! I would love to hear all about it!
